The apartment is located in building “De Krakeling”, built in 1663 by Jonkheer Everard Meijster (1617-1679) and is now a small-scale apartment complex (national monument). Ideally suited for people who like to live in the center and still like peace and quiet.
The building has a lot of history, the story says back in the days in 1663 a boulder from Amerfoort has been dragged al the way from Amersfoort to Utrecht and the would have been bricked into the doors. The men who dragged this boulder into town were rewarded with beer and pretzels ('Krakelingen') hence the name 'De Krakeling' for the building and the shape of the pull bell.
Achter Sint Pieter 52 is located in the heart of Utrecht, yet in a quiet location. Within walking distance you will find all the amenities such as restaurants, terraces and shops. For your daily shopping you can go to the AH at the Neude. You can reach Utrecht central in 10 minutes by bus or bicycle.
